Do not attempt to rely solely upon GPS find your way to Rancho Lomitas as GPS maps will show ranch roads which traverse privately owned property which is closed to the public. There are two ways to reach the ranch, both of which require some travel on dirt roads.
Via Eisenhower - From Rio Grande City, travel north on FM 755 (Avasolo St) to Eisenhower. Turn west on Eisenhower and travel about a mile until you see an electrical substation on the north side of the road. Turn north immediately after the substation onto Old Charco Blanco Rd. Travel for about four miles until the paved road turns into a dirt road. Continue on the dirt road for another two to three miles until you cross a small concrete bridge. Continue on Old Charco Blanco for about 1/2 mile until the road forks. Stay to your left. Continue for about one mile until the road ends at a "T". Turn left at the "T" and the gate will be immediately ahead. The entrance to the ranch has six rock pillars and there is a small sign on the right side of the gate which indicates that you have arrived at Rancho Lomitas. The gate is usually locked. Please call ahead to make certain that we are here and that the gate is unlocked for you.
Via FM 755 on La Sagunada - Turn west onto La Sagunada from FM 755. Travel on La Sagunada for about six miles until you reach a "T" in the road. (The road is paved for about one mile and then becomes a dirt road. Do not turn onto La Sagunada North, also called Woods Brothers Road.) At the "T", turn left and travel about 1/8 mile to the first road on the right. Turn right and travel about 1 mile to the gate of the ranch. The entrance to the ranch has six rock pillars and there is a small sign on the right side of the gate which indicates that you have arrived at Rancho Lomitas. The gate is usually locked. Please call ahead to make certain that we are here and that the gate is unlocked for you.
